for 1912, 29in. nitro reproved barrels (in 2024), the ribs engraved 'STEPHEN GRANT & SONS. 67A. ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON.', 'PATENT EJECTOR' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, the tubes engraved 'SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL.', (No.2 faint), 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, carved fluted leaf fences, removable striker discs, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, fine acanthus scroll engraving, retaining slight traces of colour-hardening and finish, No.1 with 14 1/4in. figured stock including horn buttplate, No.2 with 15 1/4in. figured replacement stock including buttplate, fore-end finials gold-inlaid '1' and '2', weight 6lb 11oz. (No.1) and 6lb. 12oz. (No.2), with their brass-cornered oak and leather double guncase with charge label and pencilled in serial numbers (No.2 not fitting due to replacement stock length)
