circa 1862, with blued octagonal 6in. barrel, small dove-tailed bead fore-sight, the top-strap borderline engraved and signed 'ROBERT JONES, 3 GREAT HOWARD STREET, LIVERPOOL', shallow notch rear-sight to rear, plain blued cylinder with front locking notches, borderline engraved solid frame, spring release catch for the cylinder arbor and plunge ejector, bottom-hinged loading gate, upright hammer spur and set-back trigger with small oval guard, chequered walnut grips with moulded lanyard aperture to the heel-plate, the whole retaining almost all of its best London blue period finish
