dated 1941 and probably an early conversion by Holland & Holland, London, 25 1/4in. nitro reproved barrel (in 2017), block and blade fore-sight with side protectors, folding aperture rear sight (battle sight ground off), marked 'SM', blued receiver fitted with screwed on threaded pads and a No.32 telescopic sight marked 'TEL. SIGHTING No. 32 MKI. 1941. No. 1218.', sight mount marked 'AV2450' crossed out and '15732', the rings marked '556' and '557' at their bases, receiver marked 'R.O.F.M. NO.4. MK.I. 1941.', manual safety, round cocking-piece, detachable box magazine, three-quarter length low-sided fore-stock with four-groove top-cover, raised cheekpiece, 12 3/4in. butt-stock including brass buttplate with central trapdoor, sling swivels, weight 9lb. 9oz.
