A COMPOSED PAIR OF 20-BORE PERCUSSION RIFLED PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1850, both with ribbon-twist variegated 8in. octagonal barrels, engraved squared breech-blocks, small applied blade fore-sights, engraved top-tangs with standing notch rear-sights, scroll engraved back-action locks with gilt signatures 'A VAN-BUEREN TE ROTTERDAM', walnut half-stocks, one with a fluted grip and schnabel fore-end tip with no provision for ramrod (cracks and repairs), the other with chevron-chequered grip with flared pommel and provision for ramrod (replaced), engraved and molded white-metal furniture, the first with grip-trap and spurred guard, the second with shell lidded trap and no spur
