circa 1850, with multi-groove rifled octagonal 9 1/4in. twist barrel, the knock-off breech inlet with a bordered gold poincon marked 'GUNTERMANN IN DUSSELDORF', dove-tailed blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the plain top-tang, the tang also numbered '1' for a pair, plain lock of flint form, plain moulded hammer, walnut half-stock with chequered full pistol-grip, flared pommel with white-metal butt-cap with central trap, white metal spurred guard, single set trigger and shell carving to the fore-end tip, no provision for ramrod
