circa 1860, round 30in. barrel with slightly concave top-flat, flaring octagonal muzzle, moulded fore-sight blade and standing rear-sight block, traces of white metal inlay at breech, side mounted pan (hinged cover absent), plain long back-action brass lockplate with external serpentine and mainspring, shaped fruitwood full-stock with brass lined match aperture, escutcheoned pins (losses), guarded ball trigger, small heel tip-plate with short top-spur and replacement wood ramrod
