circa 1865, with 28 3/4in. barrels, broad flat top-rib (starting to lift) signed 'ISAAC HOLLIS & SONS, MAKERS TO HER MAJESTY'S WAR DEPARTMENT', the word 'department' partially obscured by the fitting of a four-leaf rear-sight with standing notch, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, moulded breech-blocks with replacement nipples, borderline engraved top-tang, borderline engraved locks signed on the bars 'J. ASTON' chequered walnut half-stock (old repair above right lock), the left side of butt stamped 'J. ASTON, ARMOURER, HYTHE', iron furniture including patchbox to right side of butt at heel and chequered spur to lower tang, brass-tipped ramrod and eyelets for sling
