A RARE 6mm PINFIRE FRANKENAU'S PATENT REVOLVER MECHANISM CONCEALED WITHIN A PURSE, serial no. 671,
German circa 1865, the leather sided brass framed purse signed 'FRANKENAU'S PATENT' and measuring approx. 4 1/4in. x 2 1/2in. x 1 1/4in. deep (traces of previous nickel-plating to frame), one side opening on a button revealing a conventional purse with four pigskin leather bellow compartments (slight tears, fragile edges and folds), the opposite side opening with a hinged catch and revealing a five shot double action only revolver mechanism with load-gate (mainspring broken but appears to index), folding concealed trigger to the lower frame of purse which when operated allows the opening of an aperture for the barrel, the inner lid of the revolver compartment with spring clip for an ejector rod (present)
