circa 1880, with tapering round rebrowned stub-twist 33 1/4in. barrel signed on the top 'CHAS. H. MALEHAM 20 REGENT STREET WATERLOO PLACE LONDON S.W. No. 1604 PRIZE AWARDED LONDON FIELD GUN TRIALS 1879', underside of barrel marked 'NOT FOR BALL' and with later nitro proof, bead fore-sight, short sighting rib at breech, border engraved rounded action with swing under-lever, border engraved back-action rebounding lock signed 'CHAS. H MALEHAM', chequered walnut capped pistol-grip butt-stock with solid rubber English pad and chequered walnut splinter fore-end with cross-key fastener, weight 10 1/2lb.
