A .44 (RIMFIRE) CONNECTICUT ARMS HAMMOND PATENT BULLDOG PISTOL, no visible serial number, in a later case,
circa 1867, with near-octagonal profile 4in. barrel, nickel blade fore-sight, rear-sight notch to the top of the chequered breech-block release button, the top of barrel signed 'CONNECTICUT ARMS & MANF'G CO NAUBUC CONN.', rotating breech marked 'PATENTED OCT 25 1864', plain moulded iron frame, chequered hard-rubber grips (rubbed) and spur trigger, in a later green baize-lined wood box with 8 dummy rounds
