* AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE 9mm (B/L) F.N. BROWNING 1903 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH MATCHING HOLSTER-STOCK AND EXTENDED MAGAZINE, serial no. 98665,
part of the Australian contract circa 1913, with 5in. barrel, blued slide (finish thinning), blued frame, the heel with parallel rails to accept a shoulder stock and chequered hard rubber grips, with its walnut holster-stock, the interior housing the pistol with grip exposed, a further extended magazine and a ring-handled wire cleaning rod, all matching numbers
Provenance: These pistols are documented by Anthony Vanderlinden, renowned author of FN Browning Pistols, as being sold by Fabrique Nationale to their Australian agent Alcock & Pierce. This particular pistol is detailed as an F.N. 1903 with stock, completed on April 5, 1913 and shipped from F.N. warehouse on June 2, 1913, to their agent for Australia, Alcock & Pierce. Similar versions are found in the Australian National Army Museum with WW2 'Z Force' history
