A RARE .38 RIMFIRE SINGLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'NAVY', serial no. 94,

PRESCOTT, WORCESTER, MASS, PAT'D OCT. 2 1860', applied nickel crescent fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to rear of top-strap, solid brass frame, plain six-shot cylinder, brass grip-straps and applied trigger-guard, smooth flared walnut grips, slight traces only of finish, action at fault
Other Notes: One of many designs that infringed the Rollin White/Smith & Wesson patent, Prescott did succeed in soliciting an order for 400 pieces from the State of Kansas before Smith & Wesson halted production through the courts. It is believed only a few hundred of this model revolver ever got completed and it is classed as a secondary martial revolver by American Civil War enthusiasts
