circa 1863, with blued 21 1/2in. round barrel hinged at the breech, blade fore-sight, small folding ladder rear-sight with sliding notch, colour hardened boxlock action with external hammer and barrel-latch released by auxiliary trigger within the trigger-guard, straight-hand walnut butt-stock (cracked lengthways at wrist), iron furniture, plain walnut fore-end with single barrel-band, the whole refinished and recoloured
