A 10-BORE PERCUSSION SINGLE-BARRELLED FOWLING-PIECE, no visible serial number,
circa 1795 with later conversion to percussion, two-stage 34 1/2in. barrel banded at the intersection, bead fore-sight, gold band at breech, carved snail, flat bevel-edged lock with rounded stepped tail, the 'BLANCH' signature in a gold banner forwards of the hammer, the lock further engraved with a feathered serpent to the fore and hanging game to the tail, highly figured walnut half-stock coarsely re-chequered at the wrist, iron furniture (pitted) and silver barrel-key escutcheons and nose-cap, ramrod replaced
