A FINE CASED PAIR OF 20-BORE PERCUSSION RIFLED MANSTOPPER BELT-PISTOLS, no visible serial number,
circa 1840, with blued twist iron rifled octagonal 4in. barrels, the top-flats signed 'HARKOM EDINBURGH', engraved borders at muzzles, silver-plated scroll-engraved boxlock actions with radiused corners, carved and fenced snails and engraved side-hammers with sliding safes behind, walnut skip-chequered pistol-grip butts, the wrists and chequering enhanced by silver pin decoration, engraved and domed silver-plated butt-caps with central trapdoors, blued belt-hooks and iron trigger-guard bows, captive under-barrel ramrods on plated ribs, strong amount of finish remaining and complete with their mahogany storage box compartmented and lined in textured brown leatherette and together with a scissors ball mould, wad punch, bone and ivorine cap-pots, powder flask and loading mallet, the inside of lit with 'JOSEPH HARKOM' parchment trade label
