A FINE 32-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-RIFLE, serial no. 1712,
circa 1850-55, with browned ribbon-twist damascus 30in. barrels rifled in two grooves, the contrasting damascus rib signed 'J. LANG, 22 COCKSPUR STREET, HAYMARKET LONDON', dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with two additional folding leaves, fully scroll engraved top-tang, platinum vented plugs, border and scroll engraved bar-action locks signed 'JOSEPH LANG' (some mild pitting to left hand lock), sliding safety bolts behind the hammers, chequered walnut half-stock, raised cheek-piece, iron furniture including chequered pistol-grip spur to the lower tang and ebony under-barrel ramrod, complete with a later 'L.E.M.' bullet mould
Other Notes: When previously held on a UK section 1 firearms licence, this rifle won the vendor three Muzzle-Loading Association of Great Britain trophies in Double Rifle Competitions
