circa 1845, with blued octagonal 5 1/2in. barrel, bead fore-sight, plain six-shot cylinder with engraved band to the front edge, each chamber numbered respectively '1' through '6', moulded integral nipple-guard, scroll engraved rounded iron action with central bar-hammer, chequered walnut grips with flat iron grip-cap and guarded trigger, strong traces of possible original finish and complete with its period mahogany storage case (remnants of a parchment trade label inside lid), compartmented and lined in green baize and including a powder-flask, scissors mould, loading rod and cap-tin
