A GOOD 14-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED RIFLED HOWDAH-PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1850, with browned twist 7in. side-by-side micro-rifled barrels, bead fore-sight, scroll engraving to rib-end at breech, in the white borderline engraved top-tang with sunken sighting groove, in the white plain back-action borderline engraved locks signed in script 'PONDERVAUX & JUSSY' on the right and 'A ST ETIENNE' on the left, plain hammers with borderline engraved bodies, figured walnut half-stock with smooth walnut grip, in the white furniture including heel-plate with lanyard ring and moulded nose-cap and an under-barrel iron ramrod, the whole appearing to retain much apparently original finish
Other Notes: Pondervaux & Jussy were founded in 1837, with Pondervaux finally splitting from Jussy in around 1867/68
