THOMAS COOK 12-BORE TRIGGERGUARD-LEVER PINFIRE HAMMERGUN, serial no. 3270, likely conversion from muzzle loading, 29 3/8in. bold damascus barrels, slender serpentine fences, standing breech and top tang with later dovetailed slot and aperture (possibly for additional bolt locking device, not present), flat side hammers, pull-back triggerguard opening, bold acanthus scroll engraving with ropework bordering, the lockplates with game scenes of hound and fowl, some patination overall and scarring to underside, 14 3/8in. figured likely replacement stock including steel buttplate, replacement fore-end wood, weight 7lb. 2oz.
