circa 1890 and almost certainly Belgian made, with 3 1/2in. barrel, rear-sloping sighting plane, the underside with South African registration number, crescent fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, the strap signed 'BLISSETT SON & TOMES, LONDON' plain cylinder marked 'STEEL', solid frame, swing-out centrally mounted ejector-rod, side loading gate and chequered walnut grip with provision for lanyard ring at heel (absent), traces only of blued finish, trigger return spring at fault
