A .32 (RIMFIRE) SINGLE-SHOT BUGGY-RIFLE, MODEL 'TWO-TRIGGER 2ND TYPE SPORTER', no visible serial number,
circa 1865, with blued octagonal 24in. fore-sight signed on the top-flat near breech 'FRANK WESSON WORCESTER MASS, PAT'D OCT 25 1859 & NOV 11 1862', dove-tailed ring and bead fore-sight, dove-tailed standing notch rear-sight with dove-tailed elevator, rounded nickel-plated receiver with external hammer, frame mounted firing pin, twin trigger guards, the front trigger opening the breech, dove-tailed vernier peep-sight to top-tang, figured walnut butt-stock (some working inlet repairs) and fitted with nickel-plated crescent heel-plate, integral metal fore-end, the whole retaining much original blued and plated finish, 39 1/2in. overall, weight approx. 7 1/4lbs.
