converted circa 1870 from a percussion revolver circa 1855, with octagonal 5 3/4 barrel, small dove-tailed blade fore-sight, solid iron frame (traces of finish), the top-strap signed 'J. COULSON, STOWMARKET', standing notch rear-sight set at front of top-strap, plain blued cylinder, frame-mounted striker, double-action mechanism, finely chequered walnut grip and spring-steel belt-hook mounted to the left hand side, the original articulated rammer converted to an ejector
