A SCARCE 7.65mm (ROTH-SAUER) SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL MODEL '1906', serial no. A632,
circa 1906, with unique 'long-recoil' 4in. sliding barrel and bolt, blued barrel shroud and receiver, the top-flat signed 'J.P. SAUER & SOHN, SUHL, the receiver bridge marked 'PATENT ROTH' and the 'Sauer' trademark behind charger bridge, removable side-plate to frame engraved with 'SOLE AGENTS FOR SOUTH AFRICA' over 'R. MULLER CAPE TOWN', internal magazine, chequered hard-rubber grips with 'Sauer' trademark (undamaged), the whole retaining much original mirror-blued finish (some fingerprint shallow pit patches) and traces of colour-hardening to the ancillaries
