A RARE .41 RIMFIRE TWO-SHOT POCKET-PISTOL, MODEL 'DOUBLE DERRINGER', serial no. 279,
circa 1870, with manually turned over-under 2 5/8in. slab barrels with a short broad flute towards the muzzle and a blind oval flute towards the breech, the top of one barrel marked 'AMERICAN ARMS CO BOSTON MASS' and 'PATENTED OCT 31 1865 - JUNE 19 1866' on the other (both rubbed, traces of silver plating) slab-sided brass frame with exposed hammer and spur trigger and flat-based walnut grips
Provenance: Production of these derringers in .41 only numbered around 400 pieces.
