A FRENCH .72 PERCUSSION CONVERSION OF A MODEL 1822 SERVICE FLINTLOCK PISTOL, serial number 217, dated 1821, with 7 3/4 in .rifled steel barrel marked '217', 'T.C. de 1764' and '1821', plus arsenal marks, lock engraved with 'St. Etienne' and arsenal marks, plain hammer, stock with arsenal marks and '217', brass butt-cap with lanyard ring, steel butt-straps, brass trigger-guard and nose-cap, steel rammer with arsenal marks, cleaned pitting, 14 in. overall
Other Notes: Conversion dated 1861 stamped on side of barrel flat (hidden under stock) Union bought and stamped in 2 places by Capt. John C. Symmes 1847 - 61
