with 2in. turn-off London proofed barrel (frozen), with decorated muzzle, foliate engraved round bodied action, the left-side bearing the name 'REILLY' and 'LONDON', centre hammer with sliding bar safety and folding trigger, one piece finely chequered walnut grips with vacant escutcheon and engraved and decorated grotesque iron butt-cap
Provenance: The maker was probably Joseph Charles Reilly of 12 Middle Row Holborn, 1816-35 and 316 High Holborn 1835-47 then in 1848 to 502 Oxford St. He was the father of Edward M. Reilly
