with 3in. London proofed octagonal barrel the top flat stamped in one line 'ADDRESS COL. SAML. COLT NEW-YORK AMERICA', (faint) six shot cylinder etched with the stagecoach scene, open top frame stamped on the left 'COLTS PATENT', one piece walnut grips, all matching numbers, this revolver was made especially for the British market, being fitted with iron trigger-guard and backstrap instead of brass, and was sold via Colts London sales at Pall Mall the 'L' in the serial number indicates that it was manufactured for the London office
