PARKER BROS. 10-BORE (2 7/8IN.) 'GRADE E' BOXLOCK NON-EJECTOR, serial no. 56867, for 1889, 28in. damascus barrels (struck off), the file cut rib engraved with a banner 'PARKER BROS MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL', 2 7/8in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. choke in both, rear lump marked for frame size 2, hold-open toplever, automatic safety, action flats marked with Charles King patents Jan. 18 1887 (356321), Aug. 16 1887 (368401), May 7 1889 (402675) and Mar. 16 1875 (160915), border engraving with naive game bird scenes, possible traces of original finish under congealed oil, 14in. highly-figured pistolgrip stock (partially refinished, some gappage, maybe original) cast on for the left shoulder and with Parker Bros buttplate with central concave carved dog, fore-end with replacement fore-end wood (cracked to left side), and one retaining screw loose, King's 1878 fore-end latch, weight 9lb.
