A CASED .380 (RIMFIRE) TRANTER'S PATENT REVOLVER RETAILED BY J. BLANCH, LONDON, serial no. 7232,
circa 1870, with blued octagonal 5in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'J. BLANCH & SON, GRACECHURCH ST. LONDON', crescent fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, plain colour-hardened five-shot cylinder, blued frame marked 'TRANTER'S PATENT' on the left side of barrel-throat, swept chequered walnut semi-sawhandled grip and ejector rod screwed into heel, strong amount of finish and colour remaining and in an English market mahogany case, relined and compartmented in green baize, possible original parchment label re-attached inside lid and with storage tray for ammunition
