A PATTERN 1853 SOCKET BAYONET FOR THE ENFIELD RIFLE USED AS A FILM PROP, circa 1860s, with 17 in. triangular blade fullered on each side, ricasso stamped with 'EFD' and Birmingham inspection mark, together with a black leather Belgian Army scabbard stamped with a regimental roll number of '372' and dated 1884, the socket has been split and a jubilee clip fitted for fixing to a musket; such alterations were done by the armourers working on the 1985 film 'Revolution' (starring Al Pacino and Donald Sutherland, which was shot in King's Lynn and Thetford Forest), and bought locally sourced socket bayonets and converted them to fit the film prop muskets, 22 in. overall
