circa 1871, with 36 3/4in. barrel retaining much original blue, barleycorn front-sight and ladder rear-sight graduated to 900 yds, the breech with the improved Mk 3 positive bolt locked action, having fading case colours and stamped 'SNIDER / PATENT', P53 style lock with traces of case colours and bearing the Crown cypher on the tail and 'TOWER / 1871' to centre, regulation brass mounted full walnut stock, complete with sling swivels and rod
