A PATTERN 1897 GEORGE V WORLD WAR I INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD BY WILKINSON MARKED FOR THE MILITARY FOOT POLICE, circa 1915, with 32 in. single-edged steel blade fullered and scroll etched on each side, one side marked 'M. F. P', ricasso with brass proved plug, regulation steel guard with crowned GRV cypher and hilt with chequered backpiece, black fish-skin grip bound with white metal wire, together with its brown leather field scabbard, good, worn and rusted but an unusual unit, 40 in. overall
