similar to Ghaye's Patent, circa 1865, with fine 30in, browned damascus barrels sliding forwards on a fixed table, the top-rib signed 'HENRY EGG No.1 PICCADILLY LONDON', scroll engraved action body and top-tang, engraved back-action external hammer locks, the hammers drilled with apertures to capture the cartridge pins, the locks further signed 'HENRY EGG LONDON', chequered walnut straight hand stock, chequered end to butt with skeletal iron heel-plate, fully chequered walnut permanently attached splinter fore-end concealing the articulated barrel mechanism, the underside of the opening under-lever mechanism engraved 'HENRY EGG'S IMPROVEMENT' (rubbed)
