circa 1883, serial number on fore-end wood only, 30in. nitro replacement barrels (circa 1934), rib engraved '"BARRELS BY" W. ERSKINE. LOREBURN ST. DUMFRIES.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/2 choke, external rusting and heavily pitted internally, carved percussion fences, slightly rounded bar, rebounding back-action locks, border and scroll engraving, brushed bright and reblued finish (wear and patination overall), 14in. stock including steel buttplate, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release, weight 6lb. 4oz.
