circa 1866, with octagonal 4in. barrel, bead fore-sight, sighting notch to the rear of top-strap, the strap with borderline and scroll engraving and signed 'E.M. REILLY & CO., 315 OXFORD ST. LONDON', one piece borderline engraved iron frame with front-mounted release-catch for the engraved flat-fronted cylinder-rod, fully fluted six-shot cylinder for the early cartridge with detachable ratchet indexing back-plate, the plate signed 'TRANTER'S PATENT' and 'BRAENDLIN'S IMPROVEMENT', exposed spurred hammer and guarded double-action trigger, chequered walnut semi saw-back one-piece grip, iron heel-cap and loose lanyard ring, the whole lightly cleaned of its original finish
