for 1894, 30in. nitro reproved barrels (in 1963), the rib engraved 'JOHN RIGBY & CO. 73 ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON. AND AT DUBLIN.', (faint) in gothic script, and 'WHITWORTH STEEL', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, treble-grip action incorporating J. Rigby and T. Bissell patent rising third bite, patent No. 1141 of 1879, use number 577, action number 2333, carved leaf fences, slender toplever, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, dipped-edge lockplates, best bold and acanthus scroll engraving, 13 1/2in. figured stock, fore-end with grip-catch release lever engraved 'RIGBY'S PATENT.', weight 6lb. 6oz., in its lightweight leather guncase
