* A SCARCE 54-BORE PERCUSSION 'REEVES IMPROVED PATENT' DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, serial no. 950,
circa 1859, with 5 7/8in. octagonal barrel (traces of a retailer, possibly 'RICHARDSON' to top), dove-tailed fore-sight, the top-strap engraved with a scrolled border and the legend 'REEVES IMPROVED PATENT DOUBLE ACTION', standing notch back-sight to rear, plain five-shot cylinder with engraved borderline to leading edge, borderline and scroll engraved solid frame with dove-tailed side-plate (detail heavily rubbed), guarded double-action trigger, spurred hammer, missing grip (butt cap and grip screws present), articulated loading lever mounted to left hand side of barrel with spring release for cylinder arbor, refinished with some shallow pitting
