A RARE .230 MORRIS (MKI) WEBLEY & SCOTT MKIV REVOLVER RETAILED BY J. BLANCH, LONDON, serial no. 119399,
one of a small number produced for training recruits circa 1914, with specially bored 6in. solid barrel signed along the top-rib 'J. BLANCH & SON, 29 GRACECHURCH ST. LONDON' (rubbed), applied tall blade fore-sight, Birmingham proofs with later stamp '.22', break-open frame of usual form with drift adjustable rear-sight blade to the stirrup latch, stepped and fluted cylinder (numbered '350'), double action mechanism, chequered hard rubber birdshead grips, the back-strap marked 'R.W..I' over '2', strong traces of finish but some mild pitting to barrel sides at throat
