circa 1884, 26in. black powder only barrels with raised broad rib, engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98 NEW BOND STREET. LONDON. WINNERS OF ALL THE "FIELD" RIFLE TRIALS. LONDON. 1883.' at the breech end, open sights with two folding leaf sights, white metal-inlaid sight lines and marked for 50, 100 and 150 yards, bead foresight, carved percussion fences, rebounding back-action locks, border engraving, retaining traces of colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/2in. figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, carved pistolgrip-cap, fore-end with Anson 1873 patent push-rod fore-end release, patent no. 953, use number 18119, weight 6lb. 3oz., in a lightweight leather case with some accessories including a brass muzzle protector

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed in June 1884 for a 'Hutchinson'
