circa 1884, 28in. black powder only damascus barrels, rib engraved 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON. 13. CARRS LANE. BIRMINGHAM.' and 'PATENT', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 choke in both, right wall at 17, Powell patent rotating single bolt snap action, patent no. 493 of 1876, use number 585, slender toplever, carved percussion fences, broad strikers, rebounding sidelocks, border and acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, 14 1/4in. figured stock with steel heel and toe plates, 6lb. 6oz.
