A 4-BORE PERCUSSION SINGLE-BARRELLED FOWLING PIECE, no visible serial number,
circa 1850, with 33 1/2in. triple-staged twist barrel banded at the intersection, the top-flat signed 'IRWIN WALLAS, WIGTON', squared patent breech with gold line and scroll engraving, wide elongated scroll engraved top-tang, bar-action border and scroll engraved lock with dipped tail (signature obscured), scroll engraved hammer, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist (rubbed), applied inlet leather cheek-piece cushion, iron heel-plate with long top-spur, iron trigger-guard, old inlet iron bar repair to side of stock opposite lock, horn fore-end cap and iron mounted ramrod (exposed iron surfaces stained and corroded with some pitting to lock, small losses and repairs to butt-stock)
