original 26in. nitro chopperlump barrels (circa 1936) with narrow rib, engraved 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON (GUNMAKERS) LTD. 35, CARR'S LANE. BIRMINGHAM.', and gold-inlaid '1', 2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke, wall-thicknesses below recommended minimum;
new 26in. nitro chopperlump barrels (circa 1990) with narrow rib, engraved 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON (GUNMAKERS) LTD. 35, CARR'S LANE. BIRMINGHAM.', and gold-inlaid '1', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke; slender W. Baker patent assisted-opening action, patent no. 16778 of 22nd March 1913, with Baker patent ejectors, carved foliate fences, toplever gold-inlaid '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, cocking-indicators, best fine bouquet and scroll engraving, retaining traces of original colour-hardening, 15in. figured replacement stock, weight 5lb. 9oz. (2in.) and 5lb. 12oz. (2 1/2in.), in a William Powell brass-cornered leather double case

Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed June 1937 as a best quality hammerless ejector with 2in. chambers for W.O. Grazebrook.
