Product Details

DIANA , GERMANY
A SCARCE BOXED .177 SPRING-PISTON AIR-PISTOL, MODEL 'No. 5 TARGET', no visible serial number,
produced between 1933-45, with blued 7 1/4in. sighted rifled barrel, blued air-chamber stamped with 'DIANA' and a circle trademark pierced with an arrow, the rear of chamber stamped 'MADE IN GERMANY', walnut one-piece butt held to the body by four screws, chequered panels to the pistol-grip, the whole retaining virtually all its original finish and appearing little used COMPLETE WITH its manufacturers pale green paste-board carton with yellow label featuring the pistol and a shot target to lid, the interior retaining a loose instruction leaflet (box edges scuffed and worn)

Other Notes: The survival rate for this model air-pistol appears to be extremely poor, especially when one takes into consideration that according to official war records, the parent company Mayer & Grammelspacher were producing 50,000 a year in the early 1940's. Boxed examples are seldom encountered today
