circa 1863-64, with round 7 1/2in. barrel, plain cylinder with recessed nipples, solid frame with rare spring retaining catch for cylinder, the top-strap signed alongside the sighting groove 'FREEMAN'S PAT DECB. 9 1862' and 'HOARD'S ARMORY, WATERTOWN, N.Y.', single action trigger-mechanism, smooth flared walnut grips and articulated under-barrel loading lever, strong traces of original finish throughout
Other Notes: Considered a Secondary Martial revolver by collectors, approximately 2000 Freeman Army's were produced with a number of rare variations amongst them, including the example presented here
