for 1861-62, with blued, round, 7 1/2in. two-stage barrel signed on the left near breech 'ALLAN & WHEELOCK, WORCESTER MASS. U.S. ALLEN'S PAT'S SEP. 7, NOV. 9. 1858', plain blued cylinder, plain blued solid frame with frontal cylinder release (spring retaining catch missing) and central hammer (spur repaired), smooth walnut grips, hinged ejecting lever forming the trigger-guard, the whole re-finished
