for 1893, with blued 28 1/2in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, the top of barrel signed 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO, NEW HAVEN CONN USA', colour hardened slab-sided receiver, tear-drop shaped safe to the right hand side, concealed magazine inside the butt, walnut butt-stock with iron heel-plate (some corrosion), trigger-guard tang with three lines of patents, walnut three-quarter fore-end with two blued barrel-bands and jag-ended under-barrel clearing-rod, much original finish throughout
