circa 1810, similar to a 'Paget Carbine' in all respects except a barrel length of 20in., the breech stamped 'M.B.' over '12', small boat-shaped fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, hump-back iron tang, plain flat lock engraved with a Georgian crown and signed 'ALLPORT' at the pointed tail, plain hammer, walnut three-quarter stock, brass furniture except re-curved iron saddle bar and captive under-barrel ramrod
