circa 1795, with slightly swamped octagonal 9 1/2in. barrel, applied fore-sight, plain iron top-tang, border carved step-tailed iron lockplate signed 'KETLAND & CO' in script forwards of the hammer, roller-bearing to the frizzen spring, walnut full-stock with slab-sided butt, silver roll-edged trigger-guard with acorn finial, unusual double-set trigger, silver shield-shaped vacant escutcheon to wrist and integral oval escutcheon below rear side-nail, silver ramrod thimbles and horn-tipped ramrod (frozen), loss to wood at left edge of fore-end tip
