circa 1840, with blued 2 7/8in. slightly tapering octagonal barrels (traces of finish, one barrel frozen), Birmingham proofs, slab-sided scroll engraved brass actions with blued dolphin-headed central hammers and concealed automatic triggers, chequered walnut bag-shaped butts and diamond-shaped white-metal escutcheons to the wrists; TOGETHER WITH a later wood storage-box adapted for these pistols, the tray containing the pistols lifting out revealing some accessories including a probably associated barrel-key and ball-mould together with an unassociated shot-charger and nipple-key
