Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed in September 1902 for Charles Tottenham Esq.

The vendor has kindly provided us with the following:

"This gun is steeped in Irish history. It was made in 1902 for a member of the Tottenham family, probably Charles Tottenham, who resided at Tudenham house, County Westmeath, Eire. It was one of a pair but the fate of the other gun is unknown.

The gun was then given to George Hornidge, another member of the landed gentry of the Midlands of Ireland, who resided in Calverstown House, Dalystown, Co Westmeath. How and when the gun passed into the Hornidge family is not definitely known but it is rumoured that it was used as a settlement for a debt probably in the early 1900's.

George and his son Jack shot the gun regularly. In the late 1980's Jack Hornidge gave the gun to his son-in-law, Dr John Jenner.

John 'Jumbo' Jenner was a member of a shoot based in Helions Bumpstead, Essex during the 1990's but the gun has not been used for some years."
